SCHOOL PRACTICE COMMITTEE


Purpose: To consider issues affecting services to individuals with speech, language, and hearing disabilities, as well as the practice of the profession in schools.

Recommend to the Executive Council actions the Association might take to improve services and practices of speech language pathologists/clinicians in schools.

Carry out actions approved by the Executive Council that affect professional practice in schools.

Be responsible to the Present Elect.

Implementation:

  • Develop a three-year strategic plan that will prioritize a list of committee goals and objectives.
  • Respond to school-based issues as they arise
  • Collaborate with the Legislative and/or Clinical Services committees as necessary to effect necessary change
  • Develop and maintain a statewide school communication network
  • Invite other individuals to be part of the committee on a regular basis in order to keep the committee vital and effective
  • Communicate with the membership frequently via Association online newsletter and maineline.
